PORT ANGELES — A Neah Bay man who faced four charges of first-degree child rape and molestation will be sentenced Aug. 14 after pleading guilty to two of the charges in Clallam County Superior Court.
Eric Stacey Greene, 54, was led through the Clallam County Courthouse in handcuffs to the county jail Tuesday, ending his 154 days of freedom while on electronic home monitoring after pleading guilty to first- and second-degree child rape.
Greene was incarcerated without bail to await his sentencing.
He had posted $20,000 bail on charges of raping and molesting two girls, now 15 and 17, when he babysat them, one girl from 2009-2011 and the other from 2012- 2015.
The girls told a Forks police officer that Greene assaulted them at a mobile home in Forks.
The investigation involved the FBI, which contacted the Forks Police Department about the assaults in October, according to the probable cause statement.
Greene, interviewed by Forks Police Officer Julie Goode in November, admitted that he had touched the girls in a sexual manner, according to the statement.
He was arrested Jan. 25 and charged Jan. 28.
In an April 24 court filing, the Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office named the girls as potential witnesses at his trial, scheduled for Aug. 5.
Also scheduled to testify was an expert in trauma and delayed disclosures, memory, reactions and coping mechanisms of sexual assault victims.
No evidence of prior convictions of Greene were going to be offered at his trial.
Judge Brian Coughenour on Tuesday ordered a presentence report for Greene.
Under the standard range set according to his offender score, Greene could be sentenced 10-13 years for first-degree child rape and 8½-11 years for second-degree child rape.
The maximum sentence on each charge is life in prison and a $50,000 fine.
