Man arrested after stolen Yukon is pulled over in Port Angeles traffic stop

PORT ANGELES — A 34-year-old Port Angeles man remained jailed Sunday after a deputy stopped him for speeding in a school zone while allegedly driving a vehicle that had been stolen from a Port Angeles car dealership late last month, according to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy was performing a school zone traffic safety emphasis Friday morning near Roosevelt Elementary School when the deputy stopped Brandon Hall for speeding.

Hall was booked into the Clallam County jail for investigation of possession of a stolen vehicle, second-degree possession of stolen property, third-degree driving while license suspended, driving without an interlock device and several moving violations.

Hall was driving a black 2018 GMC Yukon that had a temporary plate, according to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office. He claimed the $65,000 vehicle belonged to his mother.

As the deputy investigated further, he discovered the Yukon had been reported stolen Aug. 30 from the Ruddell Auto Mall in Port Angeles.

A search warrant was served on the vehicle and deputies said they discovered items that are believed to have been stolen from multiple crime scenes in another jurisdiction.
