Man exonerated of alleged break-in at Tempest

PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man who allegedly broke into the shuttered Tempest apartments last week has been exonerated.

Guy Conrad Lesure, 41, who was arrested Tuesday for investigation of second-degree burglary and third-degree malicious mischief, was not charged with a crime at his second court appearance Friday.

Clallam County Superior Court Judge Brian Coughenour signed an order Friday exonerating Lesure of his conditions of release.

Sarah Woolman, who was filling in for fellow Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Zachary Snipe, said Friday she had no information on the decision not to press charges.

Port Angeles police alleged that Lesure broke a 4½-foot-by-3-foot window to gain entry to an apartment at the former permanent-supportive housing center at 112 N. Albert St. at about 5:24 a.m. Tuesday.

Lesure told police that he broke into the apartment to obtain Narcan for a man who was experiencing an opioid overdose.

Narcan works by reversing the effects of an opioid overdose.

The Tempest, which was owned and operated by Serenity House of Clallam County, closed late Monday after reports of high crime rates and increasing damage.

Lesure was released from the Clallam County jail on his personal recognizance Wednesday.

He was exonerated of his other conditions of release, including a travel restriction to Washington state and that he maintain contact with his attorney.
