PORT TOWNSEND — A Port Townsend man has been charged with second-degree rape following an alleged April incident with a 15-year-old girl.
DNA evidence reportedly links him to the scene, court documents said.
Casey B. Henrion, 27, was arrested Thursday after charges were filed the previous day, and a warrant for his arrest was signed by Judge Keith Harper in Jefferson County Superior Court.
Henrion remained in the county jail in Port Hadlock on Monday in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Second-degree rape is a Class A felony punishable by up to life in prison and/or a $50,000 fine.
Port Townsend police identified Henrion after they interviewed the girl and her aunt at their home in the 1100 block of F Street last April, according to Officer Patrick Fudally’s probable cause statement.
Police learned the girl had invited Henrion to the house about 4 p.m. while her aunt was at a medical appointment.
At one point while the two were in the girl’s room, Henrion allegedly held her down against the bed and raped her, according to court documents.
The girl initially believed Henrion was 17 but later found out he’s 27, police reported.
Court documents list Henrion at 5-foot-9 and 125 pounds.
The girl told police she initially met Henrion and another man a week earlier and had been hanging out with them in their motorhome at the RV park at Point Hudson.
Port Townsend Police Officer Jeremy Vergin, who conducted a forensic interview with the girl, reported seeing the RV previously while he was on an unrelated call.
A records check from the state Department of Licensing matched Henrion and the description the girl provided, according to court documents.
The girl had visible bruising on the side of her neck, and both a sexual assault nurse examiner kit and the bed sheet were collected as evidence, police said.
In August, the State Patrol returned lab results that showed a match of DNA evidence found in the kit to Henrion through the federal combined DNA index system (CODIS), according to court documents.
