PORT ANGELES — A 29-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were arrested after deputies say they found drugs following the report of a suspicious vehicle on Blue Mountain Road.
Clayton Folsom, 29, of Port Angeles has been booked on an outstanding warrant for allegedly escaping community custody, and Kylee Casey, 21, of Port Angeles was arrested for investigation of possession of a controlled substance, said Brian King, chief criminal deputy for the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
King said deputies found 25.25 grams of heroin, 31.4 grams of methamphetamine, a variety of prescription pills, two digital scales, plastic baggies and $514 in small-denomination cash in Folsom and Casey’s vehicle.
Folsom could face charges for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, King said.
Deputies also found a handgun that had been reported stolen after a Sept. 23 residential burglary near Port Angeles and a realistic looking pellet pistol, he said.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office reported that around 2 p.m. Saturday, deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of Blue Mountain Road east of Port Angeles for a report of a suspicious vehicle.
A resident in the area reported that a white Lexus occupied by two people had entered a driveway and appeared out of place.
After the resident told the people in the vehicle that 9-1-1 had been called, they drove off traveling northbound on Blue Mountain Road.
Deputy Mike Backes met the vehicle in the 2000 block of Blue Mountain Road where Folsom had turned into a wooded driveway, stopped and fled on foot into the woods, King said.
Casey remained in the vehicle when Folsom fled, King said.
He ran about 30 feet into the woods and lay on the ground until deputies found him 15 minutes later, King said.
The case is still under investigation and additional charges are expected, King said.
