Man arrested on warrant

PORT ANGELES — U.S. Marshals Service deputies arrested a man at Lower Elwha Food and Fuel at gunpoint for a warrant out of Snohomish County.

Ryan Ward, 37, was arrested Wednesday afternoon when several deputies in unmarked cars surrounded his vehicle at the gas station.

A Snohomish County Superior Court judge issued a warrant for Ward’s arrest after he failed to show for a change of plea hearing in October.

He was charged in August 2017, with second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm after the Snohomish Regional Drug and Gang Task Force served a search warrant on an Everett home in July 2016.

Ward has been convicted of several misdemeanors in Clallam County, including fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), violations of a no contact order, third-degree theft and others.

Ward remained held in the Clallam County jail Thursday.
