PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man who allegedly harassed and threatened to kill his girlfriend has been charged with multiple felonies and will be arraigned Friday.
Donald Allen Fellas, 58, was charged Monday with five counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and single counts of harassment-threats to kill with domestic violence and possession of methamphetamine.
Fellas is being held in the Clallam County jail on $20,000 bail.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said Fellas ordered his girlfriend out of his truck on Joyce Access Road at about 2:29 a.m. Thursday. He reportedly threatened to kill her if she called law enforcement, court papers said.
The woman told dispatchers that Fellas was driving up and down the road telling her to get back in his vehicle, deputies said.
Two deputies found the woman on Joyce Access Road about 1 1/2 miles south of state Highway 112.
The woman told deputies that Fellas had been physically and verbal abusive in recent weeks and that she and Fellas began to argue while taking a drive.
As they drove, Fellas was alleged to have threatened to strangle and beat the woman to death if she contacted law enforcement, according to the affidavit for probable cause.
The woman recorded the argument on her phone.
“Call the cops and I will strangle ya ‘till you’re dead I will!” Fellas was alleged to have said.
“I’ll beat you to (expletive) death you call the (expletive) cops on me you (expletive expletive).”
Fellas was arrested during a traffic stop in Port Angeles early Saturday.
Deputies obtained a search warrant and seized two pistols and three rifles from Fellas’ truck and RV on the 4200 block of Fairmont Avenue.
Fellas is a convicted felon who was not allowed to carry firearms, deputies said.
Corrections deputies found two grams of suspected methamphetamine in Fellas’ wallet when he was being booked into jail, Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputy Don Kitchen said in the arrest narrative.
Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Nichols requested a $30,000 bail for Fellas.
Superior Court Judge Brian Coughenour set Fellas’ bail at $20,000 and ordered him to have no contact with the alleged victim.
