PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office discovered evidence of mail thefts and vehicle prowls after arresting two Port Angeles suspects in a stolen vehicle, deputies said.
Sean R. Tamburro, 26, and Kayla L. Wishart, 21, were booked into the Clallam County jail after a traffic stop on River Road near Sequim at about 7:53 p.m. Monday, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and found unopened mail from three Clallam County residents and one piece of unopened mail from an out-of-county resident, Sgt. Amy Bundy said.
“Deputies also located several keys on various key rings, a BB gun, three registrations to vehicles that did not belong to Wishart or Tamburro, and a Washington state license plate that returned to a vehicle not registered to Wishart or Tamburro,” Bundy said in a Sheriff’s Office news release.
“Clallam County Sheriff’s Office was able to return some of the stolen mail, and the remaining items were entered into evidence for safekeeping.”
Tamburro was driving a Honda Civic at the time of the traffic stop, deputies said.
The car was reported as stolen from Bremerton, according to the affidavit for probable cause.
Tamburro was booked for investigation of possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia, Bundy said. He was released from the Clallam County jail on personal recognizance Tuesday.
The Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office will consider filing charges against Tamburro at his next court appearance today.
Wishart was arrested for investigation of heroin possession. Bail was set at $1,000 in her case.
Wishart’s next court appearance also was scheduled for 3 p.m. today.
“Clallam County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind citizens to keep their vehicles locked,” Bundy said.
“We encourage all residents to obtain a locking mail box and call dispatch at 360-417-2459 when you see suspicious activity.”
