PORT ANGELES — A Forks man has been charged with multiple drug and weapons violations after Clallam County sheriff’s deputies found heroin and numerous firearms in his motorhome Dec. 1, court papers said.
Tommy Lee Cook Jr., 27, was charged Wednesday with four counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and single counts of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver heroin with a firearm enhancement, unlawful possession of a short-barreled shotgun and possession of clonazepam.
Cook was prohibited from possessing firearms because of an April 2016 District Court conviction for violating a domestic violence no contract order, charging papers said.
According to the affidavit for probable cause, two La Push police officers approached Cook at his motorhome near 110 Quileute Heights Loops on Dec. 1.
They told Cook, a non-tribal member, that he was trespassing on Quileute lands due to suspicious activities and reports of suspected illegal drug activity, Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputy David Fletcher wrote in the arrest narrative.
An officer noticed a pistol magazine containing ammunition in the belt line of Cook’s pants, prompting a frisk that revealed a loaded magazine, two knives, metallic knuckles, a container of suspected heroin and a transdermal Suboxone patch, Fletcher said in the arrest report.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the motorhome and found heroin and other drugs, a semi-automatic pistol, AK-style assault rifle, .32-caliber revolver and a sawed-off pump action 12-gauge shotgun with a 15½-inch barrel with serial numbers that had been filed down, Fletcher said.
Bail was set at $20,000 in Cook’s initial court appearance Monday. He posted a bail bond Tuesday.
Clallam County Superior Court Judge Erik Rohrer issued a $100,000 bench warrant Wednesday after Cook failed to appear telephonically.
Cook was arrested on the warrant Wednesday.
