Deputies seek felon in connection with drug find

Steven Goodman also goes by Teddy Goodman

PORT ANGELES — Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking a convicted felon believed to be armed with a handgun after a traffic stop yielded a cache of drugs and a shotgun, they said.

Steven D. Goodman, 31, is sought in connection with a Monday traffic stop, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Goodman, who also uses the alias of Teddy Goodman, is described as a white male about 6-feet to 6-feet-2-inches tall and weighing about 195 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.

Goodman’s criminal history includes nine felony convictions — the most recent for robbery, burglary and unlawful possession of a firearm, authorities said, adding that he also has five misdemeanor convictions for assault.

He is believed to be armed with a handgun, law enforcement officials said.

At about 11 p.m. Monday, Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Morris attempted to stop a vehicle — a blue and silver 1989 Ford Bronco — traveling north in about the 2000 block of Monroe Road in Port Angeles, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The vehicle was traveling over the speed limit and did not have working taillights, deputies said.

The vehicle slowed to about 20 miles per hour, and when it eventually stopped about a half mile later, a passenger fled on foot.

While talking with the vehicle’s driver, Morris saw suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. After obtaining a search warrant, deputies found 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a loaded, sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia, deputies said.

The driver of the vehicle,a 33-year-old Sequim woman, was cited for third-degree driving with a suspended license, driving without an ignition interlock device and speeding. She was then released, authorities said.

During a search of the area, deputies discovered a bag containing about 60 grams of suspected methamphetamine, more than $2,500 in cash and a wallet containing Goodman’s identification, they said.

Persons with any information on the location of Steven Goodman are asked to contact the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office at 360-417-2459 or leave an anonymous tip at clallam.net/sheriff.
