SEQUIM — Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking information about two people suspected of an attempted residential burglary that was interrupted by a neighbor.
Deputies are looking for Theresa Riley, 42, and Amber Rohn, 39, said Chief Criminal Deputy Brian King in a press release.
Deputies investigated a report of a burglary in progress on the 300 block of Fish Hatchery Road south of Sequim at 11:30 a.m. Monday, King said.
A neighbor had seen a woman carrying something in the front yard of a nearby house, which had been burglarized back in April.
The neighbor confronted the woman.
She dropped the item — later found to be a sewing machine that had been inside the house — and ran into the woods, King said.
“The quick-thinking neighbor was able to take photographs of the female as she fled the scene,” King said.
The neighbor also took photos of a vehicle parked down the street before the driver sped off.
A passenger was later found and taken into custody.
After questioning, the passenger was released, King said.
Deputies developed probable cause that Riley, described as the driver of the vehicle, and Rohn, described as the woman who dropped the sewing machine and ran into the woods, conspired to commit a burglary at the residence, King said.
