One of two people believed to be involved in a string of business burglaries and vehicle prowls last week has been identified and is being sought by Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies.
Additional surveillance video captured a Toyota Tacoma pulling into the south side of Port Angeles Power Equipment at 2:19 a.m. on July 20, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
It added that the same truck also was seen at the John Wayne Marina, where Sequim police responded to several vehicle prowls.
Surveillance video from 7 Cedars Casino showed the same truck pulling into the casino about 10 minutes after leaving the marina, the sheriff’s office reported.
The man and woman in the truck met up with a second man, who was driving a box truck that police suspect was used to transport the items stolen in the burglaries, deputies said.
The truck had stolen British Columbia plates taken from a vehicle on Bainbridge Island, authorities said.
The truck’s original license plates showed the truck came from a real estate group in Poulsbo, they said.
Bainbridge Island police identified the man driving the Toyota Tacoma from a photo taken at 7 Cedars Casino, the sheriff’s office said, adding that a Sequim police officer identified the same man as having been involved in John Wayne Marina car prowls, where two handguns were stolen from one of the vehicles.

On July 20, deputies responded to a burglary alarm at Hartnagel’s Building Supply, 3111 E. U.S. Highway 101, just after midnight on Wednesday, July 20.
They found a door had been shattered and items had been stolen.
Five minutes later, an employee at Port Angeles Power Equipment at 2624 E. Highway 101 reported the chain link fence had been breached, although there was no evidence anything was stolen.
Then at 2 a.m., a third burglary with items stolen was reported at Leitz Farms at 259110 U.S. Highway 101 in Sequim.
Deputies were able to connect the burglaries to a recent wave of car prowls between Sequim and Port Angeles.
