Clallam County Sheriff’s Department seeks help in identifying burglary suspect

The male suspect was caught on camera burglarizing Olympic Cellars Winery east of Port Angeles.

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying a man caught on camera burglarizing Olympic Cellars Winery east of Port Angeles.

The man forced open a window at Olympic Cellars Winery, 255410 U.S. Highway 101, at about 9:15 p.m. Aug. 14, said Detective Josh Ley.

Fled the scene

He set off an internal motion alarm and quickly fled the scene in a vehicle, Ley said, adding the man didn’t take anything.

It’s standard practice to share security camera images with local law enforcement, but no one locally recognized the man, Ley said.

Now that initial leads have fizzled out, Ley is looking for help from the public.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact Ley via 360-417-2273 or jley@co.clallam.wa.us.
