BLYN — Clallam County Sheriff’s Office deputies were continuing Wednesday afternoon to look for a Sequim man who allegedly abandoned his two boys, one an infant, on the parking lot pavement at 7 Cedars Casino in Blyn early Saturday morning.
Chief Criminal Deputy Brian King said authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding Travis Michael Parker, 38, who allegedly left his 5-month-old child and 1½-year-old child in their car seats in the parking lot before driving away.
Parker is about 5-feet, 7-inches tall, weighs about 135 pounds and has brown hair and eyes.
“We generated a few tips, but we are still looking for him,” King said.
He said deputies found the car they believe Parker was driving at a residence that Parker was known to visit, but there was no sign of Parker.
“He’s potentially in a different car,” King said.
“I believe people know where he’s at, and I don’t know how forthcoming the information is that we are receiving. We are just visiting places he frequents.”
Parker is wanted for investigation of Class C felony-family abandonment and for leaving children unattended in a motor vehicle.
King said Parker has a warrant for his arrest for violating conditions of his community custody.
Parker was convicted in 2019 for felony second-degree assault, according to court records.
Casino surveillance staff reported the two children were left abandoned in the parking lot shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office.
Parker had arrived at the casino, parked his vehicle in the lot with his two children inside the car unattended, then went into the casino, according to the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
While inside, deputies said he called the mother and told her she needed to take the children because he had to go to work.
She asked him to take their children to her home and she would meet them there, deputies said.
Instead, Parker left the children belted in their car seats behind their mother’s car in a southeastern part of the parking lot before driving away, King said.
A casino patron saw them about eight minutes after they were abandoned and notified casino security, who contacted the mother.
The children were returned safely to their mother, King said.
