PORT ANGELES — A Clallam Bay man was released on $2,500 bail after the State Patrol arrested him for investigation of dealing in, and possession of, child pornography.
Colby Underwood-Moore is scheduled to be in Clallam County Superior Court at 1 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 14, for the possible filing of formal charges.
He was put on a 72-hour hold Wednesday at his first appearance, posting bail the same day.
According to the State Patrol report, the Seattle Police Department began investigating Underwood-Moore on March 11 based on a CyberTip.
CyberTips are filed with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
After Google search warrants determined Underwood-Moore was a suspect and that he lived in Clallam Bay, the investigation was turned over to the State Patrol.
Results of the warrant showed emails, photos and videos on his gmail account in January 2018 were pornographic, according to the report. His age was not included in the State Patrol report.
Attachments he allegedly sent to one recipient included depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, the State Patrol said in its report.
About 25 images and videos on his Samsung cellphone were of children as young as 2-3 being sexually assaulted, according to the report.
A State Patrol detective went undercover to communicate with Underwood-Moore on a social media platform.
He gave her identifying information she used to serve a search warrant on his Clallam Bay residence, where he was interviewed and arrested Tuesday.
“He admitted to sending and receiving images of child pornography using various apps,” according to the report.
Dealing in and possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct are each punishable by up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $20,000.
