Tourism summit begins today in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — Raising the Tide, the 2017 Olympic Peninsula Tourism Summit, begins today.

The two-day tourism summit will offer speakers, workshops and learning labs at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.

The summit will be from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Participants can register online at www.chamber signups.com or at the door.

A two-day pass is $199, a pass for today only is $159 and a Friday-only pass is $99.

Passes include meals.

Keynote speakers will be Todd Davidson, CEO of Travel Oregon, at 9:30 a.m. today and Deana Scott, CEO of Raving Consulting, at 1:45 p.m. Friday.

This year’s summit is “hands-on,” organizers said, urging participants to bring their laptops, tablets or smartphones.
