PORT ANGELES — The DAISY Foundation has recognized Adrianne Elsey with its DAISY award.
Elsey is an obstetrics nurse at Olympic Medical Center.
The award recognizes extraordinary, compassionate care provided to patients and families.
The foundation, which takes its name from the acronym Diseases Attacking the Immune System, was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died in 1999 from complications of the auto-immune disease idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.
