PORT ANGELES — The Clallam Economic Development Corporation will present “The Power of Play at Work” on Monday, Nov. 20.
The presentation — set from 10 a.m. to noon in the Raymond Carver Room at Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. — will feature Mary Alice Long telling how to bring in play to the workplace and into everyday life.
The cost is $15 for EDC members and $20 for non-EDC members, with $10 nonprofit scholarships available upon request.
Long, PhD, has created Play = Peace to coach and mentor those who want to explore their playful side.
“Play promotes creativity, innovation, and stronger relationships, and it can increase your profitability and reduce costs in health care and employee turnover,” the EDC said in a news release.
Said Bob Schroeter, Clallam EDC executive director: “This is an important workshop held during a season when holiday and work demands can conflict and it will provide ways we can relieve some stress and be more productive.”
“There are a variety of methods to achieve that work/life/play balance and this workshop will open the doors to discovering what is possible.”
