Contest fetes innovation of small local businesses

PORT ORCHARD — Kitsap Bank has announced its seventh edg3 fund small business competition.

The annual competition recognizes entrepreneurs who help to grow the community economically, socially and environmentally.

According to a press release, this year’s competition will also recognize business that have demonstrated innovation and resiliency during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year’s prizes include a $25,000 grand prize, a $10,000 innovation award, a $5,000 community edg3 award and a $5,000 hometown favorite award.

Unlike previous years’ competition, the bank is encouraging the public to nominate small businesses that they believe meet the triple-bottom-line criteria of the competition.

Nominations are open through Aug. 31 at www.tinyurl.com/PDN-edg3-Fund.

Nominees must submit an application between Aug. 15 and Sept. 15.
