PORT ANGELES — Coldwell Banker Uptown Realty aggregated nine backpacks full of school supplies for Port Angeles School
District’s “Stuff the Bus” fundraiser.
The supplies were dropped off at Jefferson Elementary School for its Back to School event Aug. 19 and were distributed among K-12 students for the upcoming school year.
According to a news release, the real estate company sent more than 2,000 announcements to clients and friends seeking donors for the fundraiser.
Grass-roots champion award earned
CHELAN — The American Hospital Association awarded Jefferson Healthcare CEO Mike Glenn its 2016 Grassroots Champion award at its 41st annual Rural Hospital Leadership Conference on June 27.
The award was created to recognize hospital leaders who most effectively educate elected officials, who have done an exemplary job in broadening the base of community support for their hospital and who are tireless advocates for their hospital and patients, according to a news release.
The association awarded Glenn for his health care advocacy and for fostering support for candidates for public office who are champions for health care, according to the release.
Glenn’s leadership also supported the Washington Hospital Political Action Committee and the American Hospital Association Political Action Committee, which are political advocacy arms of the Washington and American associations that help elect leaders who understand and care about their local hospitals, according to the release.
