New directory

PORT TOWNSEND — Skillmation, an online mentoring resource, is able to add a directory of youth programs, dubbed the “Youth Activity Site,” due in part to a recent $7,500 grant from the First Federal Community Foundation.

The site will be a web resource that aims to connect youths ages 5-18 to Jefferson County nonprofits and businesses that offer programs, camps, internships and summer jobs.

The online resource is planned to have its first testing releases by Sunday, Oct. 1, according to a news release.

While those trials occur, no downtime or outages for the existing site are anticipated, according to the release.

The site will allow users to browse through a variety of specific criteria including location, cost, age range and theme.

Additionally, the activity information will have several listing formats that can be integrated with a calender view and links to the coordinator’s web pages.
