Jefferson County Commissioner, District 2, Heidi Eisenhour, cuts the ribbon to open a “Safe Routes to School” pathway to Chimacum Creek Primary School from Cedar Avenue in Port Hadlock on Wednesday. The project, funded with an $880,000.00 grant from the Washington State Department of Transportation, includes a new mile long sidewalk on Cedar Avenue, that had no walkable sidewalk, and a paved trail leading to the school which was previously a dirt strip and soon, covered bus stops.
