The top-ranked Peninsula Pirates women’s soccer team snapped its 10-game home winning streak at Wally Sigmar Field with a 1-1 draw against Skagit Valley on Wednesday. 
Shiori Shintaku scored an unassisted goal in the 14th minute, but the Cardinals equalized early in the second half and held off Peninsula despite the Pirates’ 29-5 edge in shots and 9–0 advantage in corner kicks. 
Peninsula’s unbeaten and untied streak dated back to a 0-0 draw with Skagit Valley on Sept. 27, 2023.
